Long before Chelsea became the powerhouse of world football, they were perennial strugglers, both on the pitch and at the bank. They were often close to bankruptcy.

Although formally created as a professional outfit in 1905 at the Crystal Palace Exhibition building, the club claim their foundation date to be as far back as 1861, after a disputed lineage was found to an amateur Crystal Palace football team who first played on a cricket pitch inside the Palace grounds. Brentford Football Club is a professional football club in Brentford, West London, England which competes in the Premier League, the highest tier of English football. Millwall Football Club is a professional Association football club in Bermondsey, South East London, England. They compete in the EFL Championship, the second tier of English football. Founded as Millwall Rovers in 1885, the club has retained its name despite having last played in the Millwall area of the Isle of Dogs in 1910.
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commonly referred to as simply Tottenham or Spurs, is a professional football club based in Tottenham, London, England. It competes in the Premier League, the top flight of English football.
