About Shantalla
Shantalla is the creation of Paul Finnegan, who has lived and worked in New York for over 30 years, with leadership roles in both the corporate and nonprofit spaces. His work has always spoken for itself, earning him the trust and respect of those he’s worked with. In business, good, trustworthy relationships are key. He has a track record of leaving organizations and enterprises in much better shape than he has found them.
Paul is currently President of the Irish Business Organization of New York.
Based in New York, with strong business relationships developed over several decades, and access to a vibrant business ecosystem, Shantalla can be your boots on the ground.
Why the name Shantalla?
Shantalla is a neighborhood in Galway City, Ireland, were Paul spent several of his formative years, and derives its name from the Gaelic sean talamh, which translates to “old ground”. At the time, it was one of the poorer neighborhoods of the city, if not the poorest.
There was humbleness but there was also abundant imagination which led to dreams and possibilities. The world, in the mind of a Shantalla child, was expanding.
So, when thinking of a name for his company, Paul reached back to the feeling Shantalla once gave him long ago, the feeling of hope, of optimism, of expansion. Nothing stirs that feeling in him like the unassuming name of the place itself, and therefore he named his company Shantalla.
Our Logo’s Story
Our icon represents organic growth. The maroon, earth-colored section is the root, drawing upon the rich nutrients in the environment of your business, from deep within your own ‘old ground’. The verdant green section, the stem, represents the crop, the bounty, that arises from knowing how to use the building blocks your roots give you.

Why Shantalla.space ?
Plain and simple, because .com was taken.
But this fact then allowed for consideration of less common domain extensions.
.space was chosen because it conjures up an image of a space of safety, bravery and creativity.
And increasingly .space is the domain extension of choice for the creatively-minded.
